The highest goodness is like water; water brings life and benefits to all kinds of things without demanding anything in return. Clouds are not only the sublimation of water, but also symbolise a transformation of values. At first glance it seems like the relationship between water and cloud is negative, but actually they form a complimentary role. The silver-coloured steel is cold and hard, and yet in its entirety the sculpture seems fluid and liquid. Solidity and movement quietly complementing each other. Different notions, yet the graceful form of the sculpture compels the viewer to contemplate the spiritual world. The notion of space in relation to the work lets people understand the ethereal, distant world above the clouds. When you move closer to the sculpture you find that you are mesmerised by the statues. You are unable to coexist with others and find that the focus shifts to yourself. You discover yourself whilst contemplating this work. In this long life there are no ‘forever’ friends or enemies. You not only are your own ‘best friend’ but also your own ‘worst enemy’. Above the Clouds is a sea of consciousness, you should continuously challenge yourself, struggle forward, battle on, and exercise to achieve further transcendence. Go naturally and follow your heart.
Taking the sky as our earth, follow a natural way and, with an artistic outlook, follow your heart, this is exactly what Above the Clouds means.
